Manchester Clubs
The general Manchester BDSM/Fetish listings page
includes one-off events, munches and some clubs not mentioned here.
For city-centre events, the
interactive Manchester Map shows where most things are.
Please confirm details with the event organisers themselves before making a
journey.
The largest club in Manchester (and the north in general) is
Club Lash, which has a mixture of fetish
people, TVs, goths and BDSM players. Lash has been running since 1998 at
several central Manchester venues, and it's recently moved to The Tunnel.
Club Lash and
LifeStyle-UK's Subversion play parties have their
own pages on BiM.
Other club events
MUD - Manchester's Unbelievable Dungeon
started in mid-2004 as "a dungeon designed for use
as an exciting venue for individuals, couples and groups of people to be
photographed, filmed or hire to play in. Equipped with various toys, dungeon
furniture and equipment, situated in an dungeon environment. MUD is targeted
at fetish practitioners who need a safe environment in which to relax and
enjoy their pursuits." They are also hosting both gay and straight
invitation-only play party events, including the
Couch Club.
Club Selecta in Bolton
started in May 2004 as a pan-sexual adult club, welcoming Fetish/BDSM people,
swingers and T-girls. Selecta is open every Friday and Saturday: originally
the emphasis was Fetish/BDSM on Fridays and swingers on Saturdays, however
we understand that more Fetish/BDSM people are now visiting on Saturdays too.
The venue holds a maximum of about 40 people - more like a house or a
play party than a club. Membership is
predominantly couples and females, with numbers of single men strictly
limited each night (they're required to book in advance.)
Manchester Super Chain is a club
in the sense of a members' society, and has been a meeting point for gay
men into SM, leather or fetish in Manchester since 1983. It's website
lists the club nights it runs, along with some other SM-friendly events in
the gay scene.
KiNK is probably the biggest gay fetish
night in the North, and takes place once a month at Sub,
101 Princess St, M1 6DD
(under Cruz 101.) The dresscode
is quite relaxed (described as "desirable" rather than required)
and encourages rubber, leather, uniform, skins, sportskit, lycra or
underwear.
SM Dykes is based in Manchester,
and aims to support lesbian and bisexual women who do SM with other women.
As well as regular informal meetings and the annual Women's SM Conference
in May, they run some private club nights in central Manchester.
The Alert! is a men-only club
running once at month at Legends,
4-6 Whitworth Street,
M1 3QW (the same venue as Club Lash.) It also has an after-party at MUD.
Manchester Fetish is
on the last Saturday of the month. Until late 2004, this was at
The Club
swingers' venue but has now moved to MUD also.
Fetish Fantastic is a monthly
party just off the
A57
Manchester Road, M34 2NA.
Further afield, Nemesis II is a
purpose built 4000 sq ft play space, with two
dozen pieces of equipment. It's located south of Huddersfield, a fair way off
the M62, about
equidistant from Manchester, Leeds and Sheffield but well worth the journey.
The club is membership-based, and you need to be invited to join (see their
website for details), but you can also visit as a guest of a member.
What's missing?
If you know of any other regular BDSM or Fetish events
in Manchester, please mail
webmaster@informedconsent.co.uk
with the details (preferably a link to the event's website.) We're
especially keen to list more gay or lesbian club nights.
